"The Most Performing Ensemble in All of Classical Music"

World Tour 2008-09!

Fall 2008:

The Synergy is looking forward to another great year! The summer was successful with performances at the Aguascaliente Festival de Camara de Musica de Aguascalientes and the San Miguel Music Festival. The SBQ were also on faculty at the prestigious Round Top Festival. The Summer was also a time of goodbyes to Chris O'Hara and Bo Clifton. They will begin another chapter in their lives, good luck guys! The Summer brought new faces with Rachel Rodriquez on trumpet and Jordan Witt on trombone. A new era is beginning! This Fall the SBQ will tour the East Coast and the Midwest. SBQ will also release their first Christmas album, please check back for additional information coming soon! Hope to see you on tour!

Spring 2008

The boys of the Synergy Brass begin this last leg of their US Tour for this season with performances in CA, NV, ID, MT, ND, and IL before stepping out of the country for a few days to visit the UK and then return for performances in PA, MD and MA before heading out of the country for a while. We are looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones along the way and hope to see you at one of the shows!

Around the World!

ENGLAND:
Synergy Brass will be in London working with our sponsor Denis Wick. While in this amazing city we will be stopping by the Royal Academy of Music to present a master class. Time to dust off some of those English Renaissance tunes!
JAPAN:
Synergy Brass will make its first trip to the Far East with a tour of Japan, sponsored by Conn-Selmer. This trip will take us from Nagoya to Tokyo to Osaka. We will be performing concerts and master classes in each city. We have always wanted to go to Japan, and can’t wait to get there. We have a pretty busy schedule, but will try to take in as much of this beautiful country as we can. We are very excited because we also get to take a bullet train!
CANADA:
Directly after our tour in Japan, we will fly to the Banff Center in Calgary, Canada to take part in the International Trumpet Guild Conference hosted by Jens Lindemann. We are very happy to return to the ITG Conference. We played this event two years ago in New Jersey and can’t wait to be at Banff, there are few more beautiful places in the world, truly inspiring to make some great music!
MEXICO:
Synergy Brass will return to the Festival de Camara de Musica de Aguascalientes in late July. We had such an amazing time during our first visit and can’t wait to return to this world renown festival. In addition to Aguascalientes, Synergy Brass will also join the San Miguel Music Festival in early August.

Synergy Brass Quintet
At Round Top!

Synergy Brass will be the brass faculty for the prestigious International Festival and Institute at Round Top in Round Top, TX this summer. The ensemble will be at the festival for the June 15-29 faculty rotation. This February we returned for our second appearance at the Fesitval and we couldn’t be more excited to join the Institute as Faculty. As an added bonus for Bobby and Chris, the ensemble will be reunited with conductor Larry Isaacson from The Boston Conservatory for Round Top’s annual Patriotic Concert. Mr. Isaacson was on the faculty at TBC when Synergy began, and we couldn’t be happier to work with him again. We will also return to the Festival January 31, 2009.

Synergy Brass Quintet
Joins with Bach and Conn-Selmer!

We are very pleased to announce that the Synergy Brass Quintet has been named the premiere brass ensemble for Bach and Conn-Selmer. We are proud to say that we play the best instruments in the world. Come by one of our shows and try new stuff such as the incredible Bach Stradivarius "Chicago" C trumpet which is made to the exact specifications of the horns used by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra trumpet section for all of their legendary recordings, and the new True Bach Strad Bb 182 model. If its not a Bach, its just a copy! We will also have favorites like the Conn 8D horn and all kinds of fun stuff. Conn-Selmer instruments and Bach instruments

Masterworks for Brass of the Renaissance and Baroque NOW AVAILABLE!!!
Masterworks for Brass of the Renaissance and Baroque is a testament to both the flexibility of the modern brass quintet and the adaptability of some of history's greatest music. Much of the music on this disc was written for a group of friends to get together and sing. In that spirit, the group of friends that is the Synergy Quintet, sat down and played some of our favorite music of the period including works by Tallis, Victoria, J.S. Bach, Susato and many more. This CD is currently available at all of our concerts! Come by, see a concert and pick up your copy soon!

A Prophecy of Peace: The Music of Samuel Adler NOW AVAILABLE!!!

Synergy Quintet joined Gloria dei Cantores in mid March for the recording of a CD of music by renowned composer Samuel Adler for brass and chorus. Works from the recording will include his "Transfiguration: An Ecumenical Mass" and "Pslam 24." This recording is now available online at Borders.com and Amazon.com and will be available in stores shortly! For more information on this recording and the other recordings of Gloria dei Cantores, visit their website at www.paracletepress.com

Transmissions vol. 1 NOW AVAILABLE!!!

Transmissions is the first in what will be a series of recordings representing favorite moments from each concert season. Each of the tracks on this CD were individually selected for Synergy's own sentimental reasons and are a rare look into some of the quintet's most intimate performances. Selected tracks include Brad and Aaron's first performance with the quintet as well as a selection from Synergy's first concert at Tanglewood. This CD is currently available at all of our concerts and on the website.

Organ and Brass
We've just returned from a great recording session in Trenton New Jersey with organist Michael Diorio, and let me just say that the new Synergy recording of Organ and Brass music is going to be amazing! Now don't too excited yet...it is still going to be in post production for some time now, but keep checking this space for more information.

New CD in Progress!
While the ensemble was in Chicago this past August performing at the Ravinia Music Festival, we began the recording a new CD. We are scheduled to return to the Chicago area in March and finish the project. It should be available next season and will have many exciting new arrangements for brass. We'll keep you posted as things progress!

Transmissions vol. 2

Transmissions vol. 1 has been such a great success that we are currently looking through the piles of recordings of our live shows for this season. Like the last Volume, this CD will not contain just any performance that sounds good, we'll find the ones with a story behind them...the special ones...rumor has it that there might be a DVD involved...Keep checking this space for more information!
